| Orientation:
If you are new to Africa, I recommend you get together with me for some pointers on the area before venturing out and about. South Africa is really a safe place if you know which places to stay out of.
Visas:
Please contact your travel agent to arrange for a South African visa if necessary.
When you arrive:
Taxis are readily available at the airport for the 15min journey to the guest house.
Alternatively, a number of hire car companies operate at the airport, including Hertz, Avis, National, Alamo, Budget, Imperial and Tempest. Contact me for directions
A pick up can also be arranged prior to your arrival, please contact me for more details.
Sight seeing:
Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities. If you want to go on a Safari or sight seeing I can put you in contact with an operator, just let me know. See below for some ideas about sight seeing and safaris.
Weather:
South Africa has moderate weather with a lot of sun.
Summer is from November up to April, with fine and sunny weather. Slacks and T-shirt will do you fine. If you want to go out at night, long pants and a collard short sleeve shirt is best.
During winter it can get quite cold with temperatures from -5 degrees centigrade up to low 20’s. Bring warm clothes suited for those kinds of temperatures. Cape Town is also rainy during the winter time.
