After 9/11 my orders in the Dow futures for the re-opening of the market were at 8705. The low on the Sept contract was 8700 and the Dec contract double bottomed at 8700 (not shown). This was not brilliance on my part. The only objective unfulfilled after 9/11 was at 8690. You know if you want a fill in a pit traded market, not to place your orders at a round number, hence 8705. See the chart below.
